As Benjamin said when we walked to the edge of the Grand Canyon, "Impressive." The sunset over the canyon Monday evening was a rainbow of color. On Tuesday, we hiked down into the canyon toward the Ooh Ah Point (seriously). As we were walking down, we began to notice that those walking up looked completely exhausted. Only the ones going down were admiring the view; those going up were just intent on getting back to the top as quickly as possible.
Jerry advised that we stop three-quarters of the way down, have our picnic lunch in the shade, and decide whether or not we really wanted to continue all the way to the Ooh Ah Point. As we were eating our sandwiches, a mountain goat and her baby appeared right above us in the woods. Before we knew it, the mama goat had leaped down near us to eat green grass beside the trail. As we watched, she crept closer and closer to us, and before we knew it, she lept within three feet of Penny onto a rock above her head. Talk about close to nature. A park service employee walked by us on trail and said she'd never been that close to one of the mountain goats.
Sounds like a great time!

We have been on the road since June 6 and have travelled over 4,000 miles (Texas, Colorado and now Iowa).
Can't wait to read about more of your adventures. We stayed at a couple of GREAT RV parks in Colorado, if you make it that way.
Take care-
Love to all of you!
